    PV @ Lee High

I'm going to put this in here each week so I can be a little bit more honest about my opinions.

Lee High hasn't beat PV since 2002, it was the only game they won that season and it was the first game that Brad Robbins was the starting QB. Last season, Lee High dominated the Vikings and lost despite doubling total yardage on PV.

PV will come into the game after an impressive offensive showing against Virginia High in last weeks Jamboree. Traditionally, Lee just hasn't had the athletic ability to stay up with us. I doubt that will change, however, Lee may bring to the game the best player in the game in Tyler Graham. The sophomore has been nothing but great since putting on a Lee High uniform rushing for over 1,000 yards as a freshman, 200 plus of those yards came against PV. It's has to be troubling for Lee fans to see the Generals fail to score in four varsity quarters against JJK and JIB with Graham in the fold. Why can't they put one in? Lee lost arguably one of the better receivers in the area last year which should slow down their passing game a ton putting even more pressure on the running game.

PV has shown they can score. We are still running the always debatable spread but it would be hard to argue last weeks results. 28 points in two quarters against Virginia High. The Vikings now possess a pretty solid short yardage game when they go to split backs with Huff at quarterback, Pinkston has shown to be a brutal lead blocker leading the way for Renfrow and Lusk when PV needs a yard or two. I've yet to see PV come up short on 3rd and short situations when running off tackle with Pinkston as the lead blocker.

On defense trouble is present everywhere. Against VHS, we tried everything and nothing worked. I saw everything from 2 down lineman with a stand up DE and a walked up OLB to a straight 3-5, to sending numerous backers. We just couldn't stop the run and it has to be a concern going into this weeks game knowing what Graham put on them last year with imo a more capable defense. They did show improvement against Abingdon when they went to a 4-3 look, but Abingdon is not going to win many ball games this year, and those who think they can win the Southwest District are in for a rude awakening I'm afraid. I still think they have gaping holes in pass coverage as well, it's as if our kids in the secondary are off balance on what area they have. From what I've seen we run very little if any man coverage, which is puzzling considering our cornerback(s) got beat at least twice last week in one on one coverage on a streak pattern against VHS. I don't think Myron was in the game when either occurred, his presence alone will help, the kid can lay a lick.

I've debated about this game all summer and after last week I'm picking PV. My mind tells me two things, Lee may be on par with PV talent wise but they are not on par with the Vikings when it comes to coaching, pride, and belief. It's as if there is no pride in the program at Lee right now and something big needs to happen to change that. PV will roll into Lee County and ride Myron Pinkston to a 42-21 victory. Lee is in for a long year I'm afraid.

    Re: PV @ Lee High

I have a feeling it is going to be a tough night to host a football in Leeco this Friday night, with the Viking ship easily sailing through 5-star with a win and another Boot. Meanwhile down the road a bit,a visiting war party from the Reservation will be loading the proverbial belt with scalps (TW may be the favorite to win the Cumberland, but an LPD squad is going to bring agony to the doorstep). I'm hoping that B.I. gives Brandon Osbourne the pill many times. The kid is going to be special. Good analysis on the PV-Lee game PVfan.

Wow that last Lee win was the first game of my second year of officiating.

    Re: PV @ Lee High

Lee High did not impress me one bit this past week. I know it was just a scrimmage but they left their 1st string offense in against Burton's 2nd team defense and still couldn't score the first series of the 2nd qtr. Again, it could have just been where it was a scrimmage and they were trying different things than normal to just get in the practice because I know we did that.......but I just don't see PV having any trouble with this one unless that D is god awful. They didn't score a point against Burton or Kelly.

    Re: PV @ Lee High

As far as PV goes, if I had to choose a side of the ball to have problems in the preseason, it'd be the D...cuz it's easier to correct. All ya have to do to fix those troubles is find 11 kids who will hustle, fly to the football and hit. And, traditionally at PV, D was known as the side of the ball you didn't have to "wait in line" to play on...even though it seems Phil will give a senior every opportunity to win a spot on D before he demotes them...but before he'll endanger the season, he'll yank 'em and put in his best. Problems on O are a whole different ballgame tho.

PV should be solid and will make a run at there 9999999th LPD title this season......Lee on the other hand have only Battle between them and the bottom of the CMD

I will be suprised if PV does not win by 3 TDs

IMO, the LPD is PV's to lose this year. There's no reason they shouldn't win it...that doesn't mean they will tho. Those kids at PV just seem to have a confidence problem now days for some reason.

I don't see TW winning the CD this year...if I were a betting man, and call me crazy, but I'd go with TS or Coeburn. IMO Jordan from TS is prolly the best athlete in the CD...but one of the most fragile as well.
